Taking further my research on parabolas, I looked into Catalan vaults. These are constructions that used ceramic tiles to construct a vault using the geometry of a parabola. This construction is characterized by being thin and strong. However, the whole process is time consuming and requires certain expertise on the subject. I wanted to see how could this process be improved by adding robots and digital fabrication.
